+ When does the course begin and end?
The course begins Wednesday June 19, 2024 and runs for 52 weeks.
+ How does the course work? Where do I go to do the course?
Registered course participants will receive a Welcome email Message the day before the Course launch. From then on, a new lesson is published each Wednesday at 12PM (Eastern Time), for 52 consecutive weeks, and is sent directly to your email inbox. These weekly messages are also mobile-friendly, which means you can read them on your smart phone too.
Also, as part of the course, Thom Bond hosts monthly, 90-minute live, interactive conferences for the English-speaking community. These 12 conferences support your journey by providing depth and clarity, and the opportunity for some questions to be answered. They are scheduled on the 2nd Monday of each month at 12:00 PM Eastern Time, and Course participants can join via video conference or telephone. The links will be included in Global Compassion Network.
Finally, all Compassion Course participants are invited to participate in the Global Compassion Network. A great way to connect to the Compassion Course community 24/7 and find critical course resources.
+ When are the monthly conference calls?
Monthly conference calls will always take place on the the 2nd Monday of each month at 12:00PM Eastern Time, and course participants can join via video conference or telephone. The links will be included in the Conference Reminder email that you receive 24-72 hours before the conference.
+ What software is used for the monthly conference calls?
We use Zoom. To review how it works and it's system requirements you can visit their site: zoom.us
+ When is the course emailed every week?

+ What does the course require me to do? How long does it take to do the course?
Since this is not a graded class, the course does not require anything that does not work for you. Our lesson activities are offered as a way for you to connect with the concepts and develop your self-connection and understanding for greater integration into your own life.
The amount of time you devote to the course, is really up to your availability, flexibility and energy. Of course, the more time you put into reading the messages, practicing the exercises and connecting with the community, the more impact you will likely have from it. The emails and the conference recordings are yours to keep so you go back to review at any time. Our suggestion is that you approach it with an open heart and spirit so that it can be an enjoyable experience.
+ Is the course offered in other languages?
Yes! The Compassion Course is also offered in Arabic, Finnish, German, Polish and Spanish.
+ Who teaches the course?
Thom Bond wrote the Compassion Course Online and Leads the monthly conferences. The Compassion Course is the result of Thom's last 30 years as a writer and trainer, and the past 20 years, studying, living and teaching compassionate thought and action. To read more about Thom, click here.
+ Is there financial assistance for those who cannot afford the tuition?
We are happy to make this course available to everyone regardless of ability to pay. Accessibility is indeed one of the core values from which the course was originally conceived.

+ Can the course count towards my CNVC certification?
Possibly. Your hours in the monthly Conference Calls may be counted toward your CNVC certification. You can earn as many as 18 hours if you attend all 12 90-minute calls. We suggest reviewing this first with your assessor.
Additionally, if you are in the Compassion Course Organizer/Facilitator Track you may be eligible to earn more hours. Again, we suggest you discuss this with your assessor.
+ How many times a year is the course offered?
The course is offered once a year. It begins each June and continues for one year (52 weeks).
+ When does registration open and end?
Registration opens March 1st and closes the second Wednesday of July every year.
+ I cannot attend the conferences, is this a problem? Are the conferences recorded?
No problem. We understand that our conference schedule may not work for everyone, which is why we record our monthly conferences and make them available to all the Course participants. Recording links are posted within the weekly messages for those who don’t attend or those who would like to review.
+ Will I be able to communicate with other participants in the course?
Yes! Participants receive an invitation to join our Private Online Compasion Course Forum.
+ Is it required that I join the Global Compassion Network (GCN)?
No, you are not required to join the GCN if it does not work for you. We host the GCN a way to connect with the community. The GCN however is a critical aspect of the course if you are looking for course resources such as conference recordings, practice groups, Mentors, Course Forums and much more.
+ How are refunds and cancellations handled?
Our cancellation procedure is designed to address the needs of our participants, training staff and partner organizations.
In the case of a participant cancellation, monies will be refunded in full up to 7 days in advance, less a $30 cancellation fee (to support the time and effort involved in program coordination). There are no refunds if a participant cancels less than 7 days from the start of or during the training however a credit will be issued for future trainings.
